A founding member of The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing, Marilyn has been listed as a Luxury Specialist in the Wall Street Journal and Barrons and Sun-Sentinel did a feature article on Marilyn as a Top Luxury Agent. Marilyn presents her properties on the MLS, on many internet sites browsed by potential buyers, and uses direct mail to various communities. Being very internet savvy, clients tell her, "Everywhere I went on the internet, YOU WERE THERE!" When she lists a property she also emails over 40,000 local agents and many nationwide luxury sales agents with photos and details. She also calls luxury agents who may have YOUR BUYER in their portfolio! All of these methods have resulted in sales.
Ms. Jacobs has experienced many years of consulting, managerial, and research experience. She is a Management Consultant, Certified in Internet Technologies (NYU) and continually does internet research on real estate offerings and issues. She has done web site auditing and design. Marilyn has previous working experience at IBM, Texaco, Coopers & Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers), and Lehman Brothers. She has received finders fees from a patent owner, was Registrar for a school, designed a web page for a furniture wholesaler back in the '90's, has handled publicity and public relations, and written newsletters. She raised funds for and is a Past President of the Children's Service League of Westchester and was head of the Parents Committee at Boston University for which she did Fund Raising. She is a former Board Member of the New Rochelle Opera Company. She owned and managed a secretarial service in New Rochelle, NY. As volunteer public relations head for the Palm Beach Community College's Lake Worth Adult Ed Program, she had many releases printed by the local media about classes and events. She was on the Polo Club Federation Golf Day Committee for their 2009 event. Marilyn, as liaison to the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce Non-Profit Council, was on the Publicity and Marketing Committee of the Pap Corps, a 21,000 member Florida fund raising group for cancer research at the Sylvester Cancer Center.
During the 1990´s, Ms. Jacobs lived in New York (Manhattan and New Rochelle), and, from 1998 to 2001, part time at PGA National, and was a golf member at Ballen Isles in Palm Beach Gardens. She resided at The Polo Club in Boca Raton for 10 years and is currently living in West Palm Beach where she is a member of Temple Emanu El.
Marilyn's poems and bio have been published internationally. The Amateur Poetry Journal published her haiku poems online. A short story she wrote, "Just One American Beauty Rose," has been published in a book and featured in many online e-zines. Other poems of Marilyn's have been published nationally and internationally.
As Cover Page Reporter for several years for the upscale Spotlight Newsletter which is sent 6 times a year to 11 gated golfing communities in northern Palm Beach County, Marilyn began writing feature articles on local facilities and interviewed local personalities, when she lived in Palm Beach Gardens. Other interests include collecting antique watches, furniture and accessories.
Marilyn has received the Mental Health Association of Westchester County's Award for Community Leadership. In 2001, Marilyn was interviewed as "A Distinguished Florida Community Personality" at the Palm Beach Community College's Center for Lifetime Learning.
A luxury real estate specialist for the past 16 years, Marilyn says, "I love selling real estate. Many clients have become lifelong friends. It is a great career!"
